Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to address some of the biggest challenges in education today, innovate teaching and learning practices, accelerate progress towards inclusive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all (UNESCO, 2024). Future Learning offers services designed to equip schools with the tools and knowledge to integrate AI with their values and aspirations. By adopting a research-driven and evidence-informed approach, we aim to not only enhance learning outcomes and upskill staff but also prepare students for a future where AI proficiency is essential.
We are hearing from school leaders across the country that they are worried about the impact of AI on learning and assessment, as well as the potential dangers of using AI and how to navigate this. Many teachers feel overwhelmed by the conflicting information about AI in the media and are either attempting to learn more or hoping that it will somehow go away. Tim's recent research, "AI in Education 2023: Understanding the impact on effective pedagogy, inclusive learning and equitable outcomes", reflected these concerns. However, with the right approach, it is possible to strategically and ethically incorporate AI into teaching and learning, unlocking opportunities for staff, students and the community.
